About Us

Hello everyone, our names are Ben and Ron. We are two system administrators focused on the Mac OS X, FreeBSD, and Solaris platforms. The top three operating systems in our humble opinion. We spend a lot of time with Ruby on Rails, PostgreSQL, and other common system administration software and tasks. Generally, the topics we cover are pulled directly from our day to day jobs as well as any personal projects we happen to be working on.

About the Site

We started this website for three simple reasons. First, when we both took jobs on opposite sides of the country in the summer of 2007, we commonly would find ourselves telling each other about something we’d figured out related to system administration. After doing this for about a month, we realized that we were sharing all this information with each other, why not just write it down so someone else could be benefited by what we had figured out. Second, this website serves as a way to force us to document our projects. This allow us, in addition to our readers, to can go back and figure out how we accomplished something. Lastly, after being in school and being busy typically till 11PM at night, working a regular nine to five job left us with a considerable amount of time on our hands, and honestly we were bored.

Please enjoy the website and feel free to use the contact page at the top of the page to send us any comments, suggestions, and/or criticisms.

Sincerely,

Ben and Ron
